Marcus Aurelius's reign lasted from 161-180 during what is now known as the Golden Age of the Roman empire. While he was the most powerful man in the world at the time, and could indulge any whim he wanted to, he chose to rule with wisdom and self restraint. The only Roman emperor who was also a philosopher, Aurelius left behind a collection of thoughts on spirituality, leadership, and morality called Meditations, and it remains a classic today. Aurelius is the first in a series of Roman empire inspired parfums which will included Trajan, Hadrian, Nero, Caligula, and Constantine.

Aurelius is characterized by its contrasting sweet citrus and sensual wood elements, with undertones of masculine leather, a scent that evokes strength of character, balance, and universal appeal--qualities which Marcus Aurelius possessed.
