Real badger hair is the ultimate benchmark for shaving brushes. One differentiates between hair from the badger’s undercoat (gray or black) and the finer, softer hair to be found on much less of the animal’s coat, which is naturally three-coloured: light in the lower area, dark, almost black in the middle and off-white at the tips. The clearer this delineation can be seen in the hair, the higher the quality of the shaving brush. This is simply because the silver tip hairs are more difficult to obtain and are more carefully processed – all of which is done by hand. The hairs are placed tip-first into a forming block and pushed until the desired contour is reached. The brush is not mechanically finished because it is the fine hair tips that give a good foam and then allow it to be applied properly to the skin.
Mühle has created this shaving brush with real badgers’ hair, and it is suitable for entry into wet shaving.
The best way to store the brush is upside down in a hanging position. In that way it will last for a long time.
